Men's Health Awareness Week

"Alright?"

"Yeah, you?"

Throughout my time as a counsellor I’ve heard how many men grow up being told that they should be strong, cope alone, push through, and not talk about struggles.

Carrying everything by yourself can be exhausting, so I like to ask "How are you really?" which can open up the space for more honesty about what's really going on

Mental health struggles don't always look like sadness, it show up as irritability, anger, burnout, withdrawing, difficulty sleeping, feeling numb, overworking, or feeling like you're constantly under pressure

Seeking support takes courage when something feels difficult and to allow yourself to be heard. Counselling offers a confidential, non-judgemental space to explore what's going on beneath the surface, whether that's stress, anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, grief, self-esteem, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life.

This Men's Health Awareness Week and beyond, please know you don't have to face everything alone
